Introduction
Charles Babbage History
Charles Babbage
Charles
Babbage was a mathematician. Charles Babbage spent his days in sickness. So he
could never go to school and study. So he always studied at home. He was born
on December 20, 1891 in London. After Charles Babbage graduated, he joined
mathematics. After he turned himself into a mathematician, he began planning
for easy calculations. In the 1820s, he demonstrated a mathematical calculation
machine called the six-wheel model difference engine. He planned to make a
calculator called Difference Engine. Failing financially, he was unable to
build a difference engine. In 1833 he planned to build a mechanical computer
called the Analytical Engine. The government helped in this. Initially, the
government helped, but at one stage the government stopped funding due to
delays in building successful machines. Yet Charles Babbage did not stop. He
continued to try until his death at his own expense. His plan had a touch of
modern computer. Charles Babbage is therefore credited with being the father of
computers. Charles Babbage died in London in 1871.
